A work-in-progress adaptation of Oein DeBhairduin’s book of Traveller folktales, Why the Moon Travels (winner at the KPMG Children’s Books Ireland Awards) presented by Moonfish Theatre. This version, designed specifically for touring to schools and community settings, features a short live performance combined with hands-on creative engagement activities, centred on the theme of “passing on the story.”

The work is presented and facilitated by professional artists from the Traveller community. It offers young children a unique opportunity to explore Traveller culture and heritage in a positive and open way.
The theme of folktales and their value to a community is also to open up exploration of other cultures and heritages, promoting diversity and inclusion in the classroom.

Presented as part of the TRACKS Network, a partnership between Baboró International Arts Festival for Children, Dublin Fringe Festival, Cork Midsummer Festival and Bualadh Bos Children’s Festival.
